The treatment success rate refers to the share of people diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB) who were either cured or completed their treatment according to thecountry’s treatment guidelines.

Note: People can fall into multiple categories, for example if they have new TB that is also drug-resistant. The End TB strategy refers to the World Health Organization's goal in 2015 to greatlyreduce the tuberculosis epidemic worldwide by 2035. The 90% target is one indicator of the performance of countries to reach that goal.
